While Android is the dominant operating system on XDA at the moment,
things are finally starting to heat up for Windows Phone users. Even
though Microsoft has stated that existing WP7 devices will not be fully
upgraded to Windows Phone 8, development has continued to move forward.
In particular, the latest iteration of Windows Phone, version 7.8, has
now been made available for the HTC HD7, thanks to XDA Recognized Developer dotcompt.
The ROM is still in beta form and only a few modifications have been made. It is also not fully unlocked, meaning that homebrew applications won’t work. However, those wishing to get a taste of the latest Windows Phone greatness that Microsoft has to offer can still give this a go.
Of course, remember that this is still in unpolished form and will need some work before it can be considered a perfect daily driver, but that won’t stop most HD7 users from testing this out.
